Engine - Overhead-valve two-port engine with roller bearing overhead valve gear mechanically lubricated from engine, Lo-ex piston, double camshaft timing gear, decompressor, heavy fly wheels to ensure smooth running. Bore 85.5mm. Stroke 85.5mm. Capacity 495cc.
Lubrication - "Matchless" dry sump system, oil pressure fed to all working parts, including cylinder wall, double row big end bearing, main shaft bearing and cam shaft bearings, by duplex horizontal reciprocating rotary plunger pump. Surplus oil sucked from crankcase sump and returned to oil tank through fabric filter which entirely removes all impurities.
Gearbox - Povit mounted Sturmey Archer heavyweight four-speed gearbox with easy change dogs. Hand change gear control.
Transmission - Oil-bath front chain-case. Heavy 5/8 x 3/8 inch rear chain protected by effective guard with back panel. Shock absorber on engine shaft.
Exhaust System - Large diameter twin exhaust pipes with tubular silencers. High competition or low exhaust pipes at option.
Stand - Spring-up centre stand.
Tanks - Petrol tank capacity 2.5 gallons. Oil tank capacity 4 pints.
Spring Forks - Wide heavyweight forks with finger-adjusted shock absorbers and steering damper.
Wheels - All steel hubs mounted on taper roller bearings. Rear wheel quickly detachable without disturbing chain or brake adjustment.
Brakes - Rear brake drum of chromidium alloy formed in one with chain sproket. Chromidium front brake drum.
Mudguards - Deep section finished in black with gold lines.
Saddle - Large Lycett "Aero" spring seat.
Tyres - 19 in.x 3.25 in. Cord.
Finish - Black and chromium with gold lines and embossed "M" on tank.
Model 33/CS complete with Magdyno electric lighting and electric horn.
Model 33/CS De luxe with chromium-edged mudguards and fitted with Magdyno electric lighting with large head-lamp, electric horn, speedometer, air-filter, oil indicator, ignition switch and illuminated instrument panel above handlebars.
